Attorney
Jay McArthur
Overview
Jay is an attorney working with both the land use and real estate transactional groups. He assists clients with entitlement matters and land use proceedings before local governments, as well as commercial and residential transactions.
During law school, Jay gained experience working in both the federal and state governments. He served as a judicial intern to the Honorable T. Kent Wetherell of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida and as a law clerk in the Office of the General Counsel to the Governor. Jay also worked in several roles within the law school, including as a research assistant for Professor Brian Slocum, focusing on statutory and legal interpretation, and as a teaching assistant for Professor Courtney Brewer's Legal Writing & Research classes. Jay served as an editor of the Florida State University Law Review and the Florida State University Business Review and was a member of the Moot Court Team.
Before law school, Jay graduated from the University of Florida. Despite three enjoyable years in Tallahassee, he remains loyal to the Gators. An ideal weekend would include a Florida victory and a round of golf.
