Megan Ellis
Overview
Megan focuses her practice on representing developers, property owners, investors, national and international businesses, and financial institutions, in the areas of commercial and residential real estate development, golf course, recreational amenity and resort development, shopping center and retail development, leasing, and commercial lending.
Megan has substantial experience in all aspects of real estate transactions, including the acquisition and disposition of multi-family, office, retail, hotel and golf properties, commercial leasing, commercial mortgage and construction financing, and commercial and residential development projects. She regularly assists clients in negotiating and drafting purchase and sale agreements, leases, and operating contracts. In addition, she has extensive experience in all aspects of the due diligence and closing process.
Prior to joining Gardner Brewer Hudson, Megan spent sixteen years working as a real estate and business attorney at Foley & Lardner, LLP, where she was a member of the firm’s Real Estate Practice, Leasing Team and Hospitality, Resort & Golf Industry Team, as well as a senior counsel position at Mahoney Law Group, P.A. and an in-house senior real estate counsel position for Publix Super Markets, Inc., a private company.
Megan is involved with Bay Area Legal Services and has received several recognitions, including an award for Outstanding Pro Bono Service in the Bay Area Volunteer Lawyers Program's Family Forms Clinic and a Gold Award from the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee. She is also a graduate of the 2013 Tampa Connection class.
