Truett Gardner

Overview

Truett focuses his practice in the areas of land use & zoning, permitting, alcoholic beverage licensing and governmental affairs. Before founding the firm, Truett worked at DLA, one of the world’s largest law firms. While at DLA, he was responsible for all land use matters throughout the State of Florida – ranging from the Keys to the Panhandle. While Truett still manages matters throughout Florida, his practice is primarily focused in West Central Florida.

Truett’s expertise in the field of land use and zoning is widely regarded, as he has built a reputation for being responsive, resourceful and being able to achieve positive results for his clients. He has been awarded the “AV” rating by Martindale-Hubbell, which is the highest designation by the leading lawyer rating service, and has been selected as a top-rated lawyer in land use & zoning law by numerous publications.

Outside of his legal practice, Truett has personally developed mixed-use projects and has participated in several large-scale developments in Tampa’s downtown attributing to the area’s revitalization. This practical knowledge and experience enhances Truett’s practice and provides a unique benefit to his clients.

Truett is very involved in the community and has assisted in numerous campaigns on behalf of local officials. He has served in leadership roles for Big Brother/Big Sister of Tampa Bay, Urban Land Institute (ULI), the Tampa Bay History Center, St. John’s Episcopal Church and the Tampa Yacht & Country Club. Truett and his wife, Leigh, have two daughters, Frankie and Cindy, and one son, Tom. In his leisure time, Truett enjoys playing golf, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.
